New Zealand TV to air Chicago concert Jan 1 « Result #3 Yesterday at 7:24pm »
Hi, I was wondering if anyone had seen this or can see it air? I listen to Solid Gold FM in Auckland New Zealand at my work here in Florida and I heard them mention that one of the satillite stations, Sky Digital, was gonna show concerts from the summer. I wondering if the Chicago show could be from this year's tour or if it was something that has aired here or is on DVD already. Here is the website and listing for the show dates (side note, it is their summer down there now):
Solid Gold FM are proud to present Stratos TV Summer Concert Series - enjoy concerts from artists like James Brown, Chicago, the Four Tops and Percy Sledge...throughout summer on Stratos TV
Find Stratos TV on Channel 21 on Freeview, or 89 on Sky Digital
The concerts play each day at 7.30pm from Sunday 27th December - Friday 8th January

Re: Chicago music trivia stuff « Result #5 Yesterday at 12:08am »
I am always interested in anything pertaining to Caribou Ranch since I grew up only 35 miles away and still live fairly close to it. I have photos of it and it is a picturesque ranch nestled in a valley with breathtaking views of the mountains around it. I am a history fanatic and that, coupled with the fact that this ranch in the last few decades has been associated with music, continues to intrigue me.
I watched a PBS special on the internet a few weeks ago from February of 2008 in Denver where Jim Guercio, John Carsello (Caribou Ranch studio manager) and Mark Brown (music critic for the now-defunct Rocky Mountain News) discussed the history of the ranch and what luminaries passed through its doors and recorded there during the ranch's heyday of the 70's and early 80's. The panel took questions from callers during the hour-long special. There were questions about many famous and not-so-famous bands that recorded there. Of course there were questions about Chicago, and particularly, about Terry.
By the way, John Carsello is one of the Caribou Kitchenettes who sings backup on "Harry Truman" (to add to the trivia here).
This PBS special is fascinating so here is the link for anyone who would like to watch it. Trust me, you will learn some interesting things - I know I did.
